The 49ers kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Elijah Roberts in Round 5, Pick 9, a good 34 spots before the room expected him. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Ferguson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
