Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Judkins: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Quinshon Judkins got past him. The Bears do not have to explain a thing at the 150th pick. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Moore pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Ryan Kelly leading the way.

On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In the 13th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at pick 40 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick43 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III slipping to No. 43 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick74 Rnd3 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren is a better player than Round 3, Pick 10 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick77 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick150 Rnd5 Quinshon Judkins
You do not let a running back like Quinshon Judkins reach the 150th pick and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick151 Rnd5 Rod Moore
Rod Moore at slot 151 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick203 Rnd6 Donovan Jackson
Somehow Donovan Jackson was still sitting there in pick No. 203, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick228 Rnd7 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at No. 228 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick244 Rnd7 Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham at slot 244 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
