Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

The Packers' one glaring miss is quarterback, a need they left exactly as they found it.

Turner falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Boyd pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In the 25th overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Javon Bullard. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58 Rnd2 Junior Colson
Junior Colson at slot 58 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Trey Benson at Round 3, Pick 25 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in pick No. 91 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick126 Rnd4 Christian Jones
They took Christian Jones at par in the 126th pick, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick169 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
A reach on Khristian Boyd in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
No edge and no loss on Ryan Flournoy in pick 202; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick219 Rnd6 JD Bertrand
By-the-book stuff, JD Bertrand at No. 219 squarely in line with his ranking. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jalen Sundell
Jalen Sundell at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick255 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
They paid sticker price for Ryan Watts in the 255th overall pick, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
