Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesD FutureB-
The Browns cashed the board's mistake on McCord: B-.

When a board-topper like Kyle McCord slides to slot 179, you do not overthink it, and the Browns did not.

Reaching for Vinson left real value on the table behind him. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In No. 9 they get a problem off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at Round 2, Pick 1 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick40 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach pick No. 40 and blink. They did not. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick67 Rnd3 Tre Harris
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tre Harris in the Round 3 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick71 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
A tidy bit of business in slot 71, where Demetrius Knight Jr. graded well above the range. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick93 Rnd3 Will Howard
A premium they did not need to pay, Will Howard a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick94 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
They liked Cam Skattebo enough to skip the value, taking him in the 94th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
A tidy little value on Tez Johnson in pick 104, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick179 Rnd6 Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord at the 179th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson in slot 192 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick200 Rnd6 RJ Harvey
RJ Harvey at Round 6, Pick 24 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
They barely believed it either: Jaylen Reed still on the board at pick No. 216. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick255 Rnd7 Hunter Wohler
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Hunter Wohler. The roster fit checks out.
