Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kobe Hudson got past him. The Patriots do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 238. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
