FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

FutureB
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Skattebo from sliding. Grade: B+. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Seahawks watched Cam Skattebo slide 100 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
If Webb pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The Seahawks clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at the 63rd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82
Rnd3
Xavier Watts
Steal is underselling it; Xavier Watts at slot 82 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick95
Rnd3
Demetrius Knight Jr.
You do not let a linebacker like Demetrius Knight Jr. reach No. 95 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick97
Rnd3
Gunnar Helm
Circle this one: Gunnar Helm at Round 3, Pick 33 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in pick No. 128 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick136
Rnd4
Luke Kandra
Somehow Luke Kandra was still sitting there in pick 136, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick138
Rnd5
Mason Taylor
Taking Mason Taylor in the 138th pick is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick160
Rnd5
Clay Webb
Clay Webb at slot 160 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick171
Rnd5
Cobee Bryant
They took Cobee Bryant at par in the 171st pick, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick183
Rnd6
Theo Wease Jr.
They paid up for Theo Wease Jr. at Round 6, Pick 8 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick210
Rnd6
Cam Skattebo
The board fumbled Cam Skattebo all the way to No. 210, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Pick234
Rnd7
Thor Griffith
A big swing on Thor Griffith at the 234th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
