Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesD- FutureA+
Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a B- for the Bears.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

The Thomas Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.

Reaching for Bell left real value on the table behind him. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In No. 5 they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
No edge and no loss on Jayden Daniels in the 9th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick37 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
A tidy bit of business in slot 37, where Terrion Arnold graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick69 Rnd3 Brian Thomas Jr.
They robbed the room for Brian Thomas Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They reached a country mile for Zak Zinter at the Round 3 slot, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick111 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
A wild overpay on Jaheim Bell in the 111th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick123 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tommy Eichenberg. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick143 Rnd5 Cole Bishop
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cole Bishop at pick No. 143. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
