The 49ers let Grable fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The 49ers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The Eichenberg reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Grable falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
