The board owed the Vikings one, and it paid up: Dylan Fairchild, the No. 105 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 30 like a gift left on the doorstep. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
