If confidence were a draft strategy, the Steelers would have aced it. Thor Griffith at No. 231 is 63 spots clear of where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Getting Mondon Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
