Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Sanders, and a B-, for the Raiders.

The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Shedeur Sanders, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Marks to cover a lot of smaller sins.

They will need Webb to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In No. 6 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
They took Jihaad Campbell at par in the 37th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick68 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
By-the-book stuff, Tate Ratledge at pick No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick108 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
A straight-up fair deal on Joshua Farmer at the 108th pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick143 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant in Round 5, Pick 5 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick180 Rnd6 Clay Webb
A reach for Clay Webb in pick 180; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick213 Rnd6 Woody Marks
Woody Marks at the Round 6 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick215 Rnd6 Karene Reid
Karene Reid at slot 215 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick222 Rnd7 Bilhal Kone
They liked Bilhal Kone enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 222. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
