The curious call sets the tone. With quarterback, safety and other spots still glaring, the Steelers used the 51st pick on Zach Frazier, an offensive lineman they were not exactly short of.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Melton. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
