Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Devin Neal got past him. The Patriots do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot.

They are betting McCoy proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

The Campbell pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher and quarterback still on the board. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
