A solid, sensible weekend for the Falcons: B-.

The Falcons treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 6 slot on Myles Murphy a full 27 spots early.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

A clean, defensible pick in slot 74 with a little surplus value in Patrick Paul. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

A straight-up fair deal on Calen Bullock at Round 3, Pick 15, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.

Spencer Rattler in pick 109 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Jaylin Simpson at the 143rd pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.

By-the-book stuff, Cornelius Johnson at No. 187 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
