Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B+.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Thrash.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick15 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick44 Rnd2 Ladd McConkey
Ladd McConkey slid further than he should have, and the 44th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A reach for Sedrick Van Pran in No. 75; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick111 Rnd4 Jamari Thrash
They barely believed it either: Jamari Thrash still on the board at the 111th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick118 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
Value with a capital V on Dominick Puni in the Round 4 slot, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick123 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in pick No. 123 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick143 Rnd5 Cam Hart
Cam Hart at slot 143 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick193 Rnd6 Christian Jones
They jumped the gun on Christian Jones, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick231 Rnd7 Miyan Williams
Taking Miyan Williams in No. 231 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
