Draft Grade — Cardinals

FutureF
The Cardinals turned the phones into found money: C+. The Cardinals treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 3, Pick 34 on Ben Sinnott a full 33 spots early. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. Getting Fashanu where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Hit on Olumuyiwa Fashanu and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick 4 they get a true top target at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In No. 27 they get a blindside protector, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at Round 2, Pick 3 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick37
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Value said wait; Braden Fiske in slot 37 says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick41
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
They did well to land Ladd McConkey in pick No. 41, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick49
Rnd2
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at the 49th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jaylen Wright
They jumped the gun on Jaylen Wright, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66
Rnd3
Payton Wilson
They read the board right and Payton Wilson was the payoff at the 66th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69
Rnd3
DJ James
Nothing to complain about; DJ James went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick71
Rnd3
Renardo Green
Renardo Green in the 71st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick80
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
A slide stopped in pick No. 80, with Christian Haynes worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick90
Rnd3
Maason Smith
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Maason Smith at DT-EDGE with quarterback open.
Pick97
Rnd3
Ben Sinnott
A real head-scratcher, Ben Sinnott in the Round 3 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
