Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Jaylen Harrell, 23 picks ahead of schedule.

Washington at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In pick No. 4 they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick27 Rnd1 Troy Franklin
Troy Franklin at slot 27 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
A premium they did not need to pay, Jackson Powers-Johnson a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66 Rnd3 Blake Corum
By-the-book stuff, Blake Corum at the 66th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick71 Rnd3 Junior Colson
Junior Colson in No. 71 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick90 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at the 90th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick105 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at pick No. 105, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick137 Rnd5 Malik Washington
Malik Washington slipping to Round 5, Pick 1 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jaylen Harrell
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaylen Harrell in the 188th pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick222 Rnd7 Darius Muasau
They jumped the gun on Darius Muasau, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick224 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
They talked themselves into Taulia Tagovailoa at No. 224, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
