Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Helm should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Gunnar Helm had no business being available in slot 132, and the Bills did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Robinson left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Derrick Harmon
In pick No. 30 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick56 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Nothing to complain about; Trey Amos went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick62 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Circle this one: Xavier Watts at slot 62 is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick109 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer in the 109th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick132 Rnd4 Gunnar Helm
They will replay Gunnar Helm at No. 132 for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick169 Rnd5 Ben Sauls
Ben Sauls at Round 5, Pick 31 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick170 Rnd5 Kyle Williams
They paid sticker price for Kyle Williams in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick173 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Quincy Riley. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick177 Rnd6 Que Robinson
Que Robinson at pick No. 177 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick206 Rnd6 Karene Reid
Karene Reid in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
