The 49ers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The 49ers bet big and early on Joe Milton III, 40 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Landing Richardson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
