Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Coker: B.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jalen Coker got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at slot 245. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

If Owens pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Bishop pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and tight end still on the board.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
They did well to land Terrion Arnold in the 26th pick, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
They took Tyler Nubin at par in No. 41, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick58 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper slid further than he should have, and pick No. 58 is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cole Bishop
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback and tight end to take Cole Bishop, a safety that was not the priority.
Pick89 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in the 89th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick101 Rnd4 Ray Davis
Fair-plus on Ray Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick126 Rnd4 Brennan Jackson
Brennan Jackson in slot 126 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick142 Rnd5 Elijah Jones
A tidy little value on Elijah Jones in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick169 Rnd5 Isaiah Davis
They read the board right and Isaiah Davis was the payoff at Round 5, Pick 33. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jaden Crumedy
No edge and no loss on Jaden Crumedy in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
A slide stopped in the 219th overall pick, with Nathaniel Watson worth more than the price. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick220 Rnd6 Tyler Owens
Tyler Owens in pick 220 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick240 Rnd7 Ryan Watts
A clean, defensible pick in No. 240 with a little surplus value in Ryan Watts. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jalen Coker
Jalen Coker in the 245th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
Pick255 Rnd7 Matthew Jones
A straight-up fair deal on Matthew Jones at pick No. 255, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
