A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a B.

The Bears put a flag in the ground for David Ugwoegbu, 71 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. With interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on tight end is the choice that costs them.

The veteran additions, Michael Carter II chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
