Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Jonah Monheim, the No. 148 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 232.

Paige has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
