The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Sedrick Van Pran, taking him 40 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. With interior defensive lineman unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
