You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bears took Patrick Payton at pick No. 126, roughly 56 spots before his name belonged.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

However the rest shakes out, Metcalf at that price is a win they earned.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
