This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: J. Michael Sturdivant, the No. 156 name on the board, stolen at Round 6, Pick 45.

Every board in the league had Gray lower, and that gap is the story. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

It is not that Abrams-Draine is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In the end it comes back to Rome Odunze, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
