Burke should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a B+.

The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Burke. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Mafah reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
