Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureA+
The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: B+.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.

Every board in the league had Speights lower, and that gap is the story. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

That Wilson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
By-the-book stuff, Brenden Rice at Round 3, Pick 11 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick106 Rnd4 Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110 Rnd4 Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson in the 110th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick127 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at the 127th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick146 Rnd5 Mike Sainristil
A slide stopped in slot 146, with Mike Sainristil worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick186 Rnd6 Omar Speights
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Omar Speights. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
