Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureC
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Daniels: B.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Trotter Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Joe Alt
Joe Alt in the Round 1 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick9 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In No. 9 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Pick17 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In pick 17 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick76 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Value with a capital V on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 76, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick111 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in Round 4, Pick 11 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
