The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

They are betting Powers-Johnson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
