FutureB-
The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a B. Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. That Sanders pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They are betting Barton proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In pick 4 they get a true top target. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In No. 9 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In pick No. 27 they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Graham Barton
The board had cheaper options than Graham Barton at the 35th overall pick, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick66
Rnd3
Ja'Tavion Sanders
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ja'Tavion Sanders in the Round 3 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick71
Rnd3
Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at Round 3, Pick 7 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
A conviction pick on Sedrick Van Pran at the 75th pick that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick110
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in slot 110 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick122
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at slot 122 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick146
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Cam Hart in the Round 5 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
