Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB
A solid, sensible weekend for the Bills: B.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bills started one anyway for Jase McClellan, 54 picks ahead of schedule. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Mitchell steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 JC Latham
In the 22nd overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Adonai Mitchell in pick No. 50, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick86 Rnd3 Tommy Eichenberg
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tommy Eichenberg this early at slot 86. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick99 Rnd3 Tory Horton
They paid up for Tory Horton at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick118 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
A reach for Jaden Hicks in pick 118; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick148 Rnd5 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in No. 148 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
Jaylan Ford at slot 155 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jase McClellan
A real head-scratcher, Jase McClellan in Round 6, Pick 21 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick199 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
Value said wait; Bryce Foster in No. 199 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick208 Rnd6 Sam Hartman
This one needs a full-page explanation: Sam Hartman in the 208th overall pick, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick239 Rnd7 Xavier Thomas
Xavier Thomas at the 239th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
