There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bengals took Hayden Hatten a full 59 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Landing Robinson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
