Priorities are a choice, and the Bengals made a strange one, taking Kool-Aid McKinstry at defensive back in No. 17 with cornerback, interior defensive lineman and other spots crying out for the pick instead. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. The Linton pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The cost of the Knox reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Job largely done: tight end settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
