The tape said wait; the Bengals did not. Hayden Hatten went at the Round 7 slot, a good 84 picks before the board was ready. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Mahogany falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
