The Bengals worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Mason Fairchild at the 238th pick is 52 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

Coleman at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman and quarterback still on the board.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
