The real work happened on the phones. The Bengals fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. The Bengals clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
