Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB
The Falcons fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Falcons were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.

That is an edge rusher worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots. Taysom Hill gives the group a proven body among the projects.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Xavier Legette
In No. 19 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Dallas Turner
Dallas Turner in pick 41 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick43 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
Nothing to complain about; Quinn Ewers went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick75 Rnd3 Princely Umanmielen
Princely Umanmielen at Round 3, Pick 11 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick77 Rnd3 Maason Smith
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Maason Smith adds a DT-EDGE and leaves interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots untouched.
Pick111 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
Matt Goncalves slid further than he should have, and the 111th pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
