A costly weekend of dealing drags the Saints to a C.

The Saints torched the value chart for Maason Smith, taking him 48 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, cornerback and other spots still on the board. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
