The board owed the Buccaneers one, and it paid up: Ashton Gillotte, the No. 35 name on the board, sitting there at Round 6, Pick 24 like a gift left on the doorstep.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They will need Singleton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
