Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall A-
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
Daniels is the plan now, and the Patriots grade out a A-.

Nobody else had Fabien Lovett anywhere near slot 182. The Patriots did, by 153 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. On value alone, Amegadjie makes the weekend a net positive.

Spending an early pick on linebacker with edge rusher and safety open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

It is a haul that will look even better come September.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick27 Rnd1 Keon Coleman
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Tyler Guyton in slot 35 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick44 Rnd2 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in No. 44 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick66 Rnd3 Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in the 66th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick68 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marist Liufau. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick79 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 79 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick103 Rnd4 Will Shipley
Value said wait; Will Shipley in slot 103 says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
They reached a country mile for Theo Johnson at the 109th pick, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick114 Rnd4 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson at Round 4, Pick 14 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick133 Rnd4 Curtis Jacobs
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending No. 133 on Curtis Jacobs with edge rusher and safety unsolved.
Pick143 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick182 Rnd6 Fabien Lovett
They talked themselves into Fabien Lovett at the 182nd overall pick, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick224 Rnd7 Jawhar Jordan
The board had Jawhar Jordan higher than pick 224, and the running back fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
