Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
The Patriots found their guy under center in Daniels: A-.

The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

Egbuka at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

If Jackson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In the end it comes back to Jayden Daniels, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 10th pick they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Amarius Mims
Amarius Mims slid further than he should have, and pick 34 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick42 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
A clean, defensible pick in No. 42 with a little surplus value in Keon Coleman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick66 Rnd3 Emeka Egbuka
They will replay Emeka Egbuka at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
A premium they did not need to pay, Donovan Jackson a notch or two before his time. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
