Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureA+
Grand theft in Round 7, Pick 3: the Giants steal Bassa and grade out a A. The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jeffrey Bassa fell into the 219th overall pick. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A.
The Jones Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
In the end it comes back to Mykel Williams, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Mykel Williams
In No. 20 they get a disruptor off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Walter Nolen
They barely believed it either: Walter Nolen still on the board at pick 34. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick45
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They robbed the room for Malaki Starks here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick51
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
A tidy bit of business in the 51st pick, where Tyler Booker graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
Taking Tyler Warren in Round 3, Pick 1 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick77
Rnd3
Jihaad Campbell
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jihaad Campbell in the 77th overall pick, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick103
Rnd4
Azareye'h Thomas
Fair-plus on Azareye'h Thomas, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick120
Rnd4
Kaleb Johnson
A running back of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick121
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
A real head-scratcher, Emery Jones Jr. in the Round 4 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
Lathan Ransom in slot 134 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick153
Rnd5
Daylen Everette
Steal is underselling it; Daylen Everette at No. 153 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick189
Rnd6
Chris Paul Jr.
Somehow Chris Paul Jr. was still sitting there in the 189th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick219
Rnd7
Jeffrey Bassa
The board fumbled Jeffrey Bassa all the way to pick No. 219, and they scooped it up. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick232
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
Jared Wilson at the 232nd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jamaree Caldwell
They reached into another round for Jamaree Caldwell, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
