Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
D-
ValueC+

FutureC+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bills to a D-. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bills did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Cowing to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
The Jones pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In the Round 1 slot they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
A reach on Braden Fiske in pick No. 46; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick60
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
Bralen Trice at slot 60 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick83
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
A reach for Khyree Jackson in Round 3, Pick 19; a little patience would have been rewarded. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick99
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaden Hicks in the 99th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick112
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Fisher. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jacob Cowing
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jacob Cowing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
They took Mason McCormick at par in No. 144, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at the 154th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick163
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
The board had cheaper options than Khristian Boyd at pick 163, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Pick189
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They jumped the gun on Joe Milton III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
