Draft Grade — Falcons

FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Falcons to a D-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Falcons did exactly that with DeMonte Capehart in the 117th pick. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
The Wilson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
James Pearce Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value.
Pick46
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker at Round 2, Pick 14 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick86
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston in pick 86 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick117
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
They reached into another round for DeMonte Capehart, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jared Wilson
Steal is underselling it; Jared Wilson at pick No. 238 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
