Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Nobody dealt better than the Bills this weekend: B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Bills came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

If Hartman pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Devonshire value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick53 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
They reached a country mile for Xavier Legette at pick 53, and the board is aghast. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick60 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Javon Bullard. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick69 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
Nice patience on Kingsley Suamataia, who had no business lasting to pick No. 69. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick99 Rnd3 DeWayne Carter
No drama and no debate, DeWayne Carter went about where he belonged in slot 99. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick129 Rnd4 Josh Newton
A tidy little value on Josh Newton in No. 129, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick159 Rnd5 Xavier Thomas
Xavier Thomas at the 159th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick162 Rnd5 Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick198 Rnd6 Isaiah Williams
Isaiah Williams slipping to Round 6, Pick 23 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202 Rnd6 M.J. Devonshire
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 202 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick206 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
No edge and no loss on Nathaniel Watson in the Round 6 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick240 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
A straight-up fair deal on Kimani Vidal at the 240th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick246 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick 246 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick256 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman in Round 7, Pick 36 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
