Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills let Gould fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named interior defensive lineman, a need the Bills walked right past.

However the rest shakes out, Gould at that price is a win they earned. They will need McCaffrey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson in pick 28 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick60 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
A quiet steal in the Round 2 slot: T.J. Tampa for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick128 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
A conviction pick on Ainias Smith at slot 128 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey in Round 4, Pick 34 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick144 Rnd5 Mason McCormick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mason McCormick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick160 Rnd5 Anthony Gould
Anthony Gould at the 160th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick163 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
A tidy little value on Tykee Smith in the 163rd overall pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick189 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy at the 189th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick200 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in pick 200 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick204 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at the Round 6 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Pick248 Rnd7 Emani Bailey
They paid up for Emani Bailey at Round 7, Pick 28 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
