The Bills won the night they stopped Polk from sliding. Grade: D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bills did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They will need Jones to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

The Jones pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with linebacker, running back and other spots still on the board. The Polk pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
