You can hear the double-takes from here. The Bills took Jordan Burch at slot 155, roughly 34 spots before his name belonged. It bottoms out at a F.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. It is not that DeJean is a bad player; it is that the Bills had louder needs to answer first.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Simpson makes the weekend a net positive.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
