Carter should have been long gone. The Bills pounced, and earned a B.

Somebody in Round 5, Pick 38 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bills sat still while Barrett Carter, the No. 82 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Every board in the league had Igbinosun lower, and that gap is the story. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

In slot 29 they get a green-dot type in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.

Tyleik Williams at Round 2, Pick 24 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

Trey Amos at No. 61 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick107 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
They will replay Andrew Mukuba at the 107th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick129 Rnd4 Elic Ayomanor
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Elic Ayomanor in pick No. 129, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169 Rnd5 Connor Colby
No edge and no loss on Connor Colby in pick 169; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd5 Carson Schwesinger
Taking Carson Schwesinger in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 Barrett Carter
A linebacker of that caliber at the 175th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Samuel Brown in Round 6, Pick 28 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
