Draft Grade — Bills

FutureC+
The phones sank the Bills this weekend: D-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Bills reached some 77 spots for Kimani Vidal, and value like that does not grow back.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.
However the rest shakes out, Braswell at that price is a win they earned.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Adonai Mitchell
In the 28th overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick44
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
A premium they did not need to pay, Braden Fiske a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick60
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
Somehow Chris Braswell was still sitting there in pick No. 60, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick99
Rnd3
Javon Baker
Javon Baker at the 99th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick112
Rnd4
McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson at Round 4, Pick 12 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick128
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They paid up for Christian Jones at pick 128 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick144
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
No drama and no debate, Tykee Smith went about where he belonged in No. 144. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
Good price on Jarrian Jones in pick 154, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick156
Rnd5
Jordan Travis
They paid sticker price for Jordan Travis in the 156th pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick160
Rnd5
Sione Vaki
A conviction pick on Sione Vaki at pick No. 160 that the board grades a round light. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick163
Rnd5
Kimani Vidal
A real head-scratcher, Kimani Vidal in slot 163 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick189
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
The board had cheaper options than Drake Nugent at the 189th overall pick, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
